Jimmy Wang is a freelance video producer, and is currently working on directing his first feature narrative film.
Prior to this, Mr. Wang worked as a video journalist for the NY Times, in addition to freelancing for Time.com and The Asia Society.
Mr. Wang won The Global Media Award in 2009 for outstanding informational long form story at the International CES, organized by the National Academy of Television Arts and the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).
In 2008, Mr. Wang received the Grantham Prize for reporting on the environment for producing a 9-part documentary series about the environmental challenges facing China in the wake of its unprecedented economic growth. The documentaries were a key element to “Choking on Growth,” a collaborative multimedia effort between reporters, editors, and producers at The New York Times. Wang's work as a video journalist received awards and citations from numerous organizations, including The Overseas Press Club of America, The Society of American Business Editors, The Scripps Howard Foundation, and The New York Times.
Mr. Wang has no relationship whatsoever to Jimmy Wang Yang-the WWE smack down wrestler-or Jimmy Wang Yu, the kung-fu choreographer.
